This is Bracken, a delightful Jack Russell that I did my best to memorialize after she passed in the spring of 2025.
I don't often take commissions, as I have a full plate of art shows with an endless supply of ideas for paintings that I really want to paint. But every so often someone will inquire about a portrait of their beloved pet that has so much character that I find it difficult to refuse. I prefer to meet the animal and take my own photos, but if that's not possible because of distance, or if the animal has passed, I will only take the commission if I have suitable reference material.
