Some paintings just seem to paint themselves, while others can be a real struggle. This one did not come easy, possibly because I had started it, then had to put it aside for a couple of months due to other deadlines, travel, etc. In the meantime, I've been spotting our resident fox quite often and finished a quick oil of him napping before finally finishing this one.
