I remember the inspiration for this painting so clearly. It was in April when the weather can't seem to decide on its own stability - the sky grew dark with the gathering energy of storm clouds, yet the sun sliced through to brilliantly light up this distant tree with its resident hawk, perched comfortably while surveying all possibilities.
